Informants are an integral component of criminal investigation. Informants, when used carefully, drastically improve the rate of arrest and conviction. The Confidential Human Sources Repository System (CHSRS) unit keeps accurate, detailed records of all previously utilized informants. It is easily accessible anywhere within the network by authorized members. Investigators will have instant access to all allowable departments' and agencies' sources of information when conducting investigations. CHSRS can search all records using many different criteria including, but not limited to, name, expertise, and language, allowing investigators to quickly find ideal candidates for specific assignments. By keeping close tracking records, the CHSRS unit is able to improve the agency by increasing the efficiency of the informant selection process. CHSRS key features:
The Witness Protection System (WPS) is available an add-on to the CHSRS unit. WPS is used to protect informants who may put themselves and their families at risk when they reveal critical information. WPS key features:
